About the event
Join us for the inaugural running of the Columbia River Half Iron on June 14, 2026, FLAG DAY for a 1.2 mile swim in beautiful Columbia River, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile half marathon. Mandatory Safety briefing on June 11, 2026, 7 pm (Zoom presentation). Optional Pasta Feed 4 pm June 13, 2026. Race Starts 8 am in knee deep water at boat ramp and goes out clockwise around 5 buoys. 56 mile hilly road bike toward Ellensburg. Follow the around route arrows in the road, elevated directional signs, and chalk and flour markings. Obey all flaggers, police and life guard instructions while on the course. Must wear bib, on bike and run, must have stickers on helmet and bike. Drafting is not permitted. Wet suits are allowed and encouraged 60-85F. Certified lifeguards on kayaks. Raise your hand if you can if you need help. Must wear ankle bracelet…

Full triathlon including 1.2 mile swim Columbia River, 56 mile hilly road bike, and 13.1 mile half marathon. Included in your registration is swim cap, event race wind breaker, pasta feed, and post race bash and awards.

2 Person RELAY Half Iron
Choice between 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile hilly road bike, and/or flat 13.1 mile half marathon run. Both participant must be a USAT member (1 day membership is available). Both participants will receive race event wind breaker, finishing medal, entrance to pasta feed and post race bash and award ceremony.

3 Person RELAY Half Iron
Each will choice between 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile hilly road bike, and 13.1 mile flat half marathon. Each must be a member of the USAT. (1 day memberships are available). Each will receive custom designed event wind breaker, finisher medal, entrance to pasta feed, and post race bash/awards ceremony.
